1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how iDeeJay (“iDeeJay,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the iDeeJay mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

iDeeJay is a social music and live-event platform used by listeners, DJs, venues, promoters, event planners, and other users. The information we process depends on which features you use and the permissions you grant.

This policy is intended to describe our current privacy practices. Rights and obligations under privacy laws vary by location and apply to iDeeJay only where the relevant law applies.

2. Information You Provide

We may collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information such as name, email address, username, authentication information, and account settings

• Profile information such as display name, profile photo, biography, location or home market, genres, social links, DJ details, venue details, promoter or event-planner information, availability, residencies, and other professional information you choose to publish

• User Content such as posts or Moments, comments, messages, reactions, reviews, session names, song requests, event details, images, and other content you submit

• Booking and inquiry information such as event name, date, event details, availability, communications, and other information exchanged between users

• Support, legal, privacy, safety, and copyright communications you send to us

• Reports and moderation information when you report content, accounts, sessions, events, messages, or behavior

3. Information Collected Through Use of the Service

When you use iDeeJay, we may automatically collect or generate information such as:

• Session activity, including sessions created or joined, queue actions, song requests, votes, reactions, skips, playback-related actions, invitations, and session duration

• Social activity, including follows, followers, blocks, reports, profile interactions, messages, posts, and engagement with content

• Event and discovery activity, including events viewed, sessions discovered, venue interactions, and map or search activity

• Device and app information, including device type, operating-system version, app version, language, push-notification token, and technical identifiers

• Network and log information, which may include IP address, timestamps, request logs, authentication events, security events, and server logs

• Diagnostics and performance information, including crashes, errors, app-start performance, network performance, and feature reliability

• Website and web-session activity, which may include page views, browser or device type, referring source, campaign parameters, join-link or session identifiers, button interactions, and web-requester activity

• Analytics events used to understand feature adoption, engagement, retention, and product performance

4. Location Information

With your permission, iDeeJay may process precise or approximate device location to support features such as nearby-session discovery, map experiences, event discovery, third-party event searches, location-based access, and other location-aware functionality.

We may also store locations that you intentionally add to a profile, event, venue, session, booking, or other content. That user-provided location can remain associated with the applicable content until it is edited or deleted, subject to our retention practices.

You can change iDeeJay’s access to device location through iOS Settings. Disabling location may limit location-based features. Third-party mapping technology may process location, search, map, and device information as described in its own privacy documentation.

5. Apple Music and Music Data

iDeeJay uses Apple’s MusicKit and related Apple Music services to provide music search, catalog, library, recommendation, queue, and playback-related features where available.

Apple requires your permission before an app accesses user-specific music data. Depending on the iDeeJay feature you use and the MusicKit requests the app makes, music-related data may include Apple Music authorization or subscription status, catalog metadata, library metadata, personalized recommendations, favorites, playlists, recently played content, or other Apple Music data made available through Apple’s APIs.

iDeeJay does not host or distribute Apple Music audio files. Playback is provided through Apple’s authorized playback technology and remains subject to your Apple Music eligibility and Apple’s terms.

We do not use Apple Music user-specific data for unrelated advertising purposes, and we limit our use of such data to providing and improving music-related Service functionality, security, and support as permitted by Apple.

6. Information From Other Users and Third Parties

We may receive information about you from other users and from third parties that help provide the Service. Examples include:

• Information another user provides about an event, booking, session, venue, DJ, attendee, or collaborator

• Sign in with Apple information, such as your name and email address or Apple private relay address, depending on what you choose to share

• Google Sign-In information, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier, depending on the permissions you grant and information Google makes available to iDeeJay

• Apple Music data you authorize iDeeJay to access through MusicKit

• Spotify account or authentication information where Spotify functionality is enabled and you choose to connect Spotify; available Spotify functionality may be limited and may not include playback through iDeeJay

• Map, place, geocoding, and search information from mapping providers used for Around Me and other discovery features

• Event, venue, attraction, and related discovery information from Ticketmaster or other event-data providers, including results based on a location or search you request

• App-store transaction, subscription, entitlement, or purchase status associated with Paid Features where applicable

• Information from analytics, infrastructure, security, crash-reporting, notification, advertising, website-hosting, or other service providers used to operate iDeeJay

7. How We Use Information

We use information to operate, secure, personalize, support, and improve iDeeJay, including to:

• Create and manage accounts, profiles, settings, and authentication

• Operate live sessions, queues, requests, voting, reactions, playback-related features, and invitations

• Provide social features such as profiles, follows, content, messaging, activity, reviews, and notifications

• Provide event, venue, DJ, session, booking, map, website, web-session, and discovery features, including third-party event discovery where enabled

• Personalize recommendations, feeds, session suggestions, and product experiences

• Process or validate subscriptions, digital purchases, boosts, tokens, tips, or other Paid Features where available

• Send transactional, safety, social, booking, session, and event notifications according to your settings and permissions

• Detect spam, fraud, abuse, manipulation, security threats, and violations of our Terms

• Investigate reports, enforce blocks, moderate User Content, and protect users

• Measure performance, troubleshoot errors, conduct analytics, test features, and improve the Service

• Respond to support, legal, privacy, and copyright requests

• Comply with applicable law and protect our rights, users, and the public

8. Public and Social Information

iDeeJay includes social and professional-profile features. Information you make public may be visible to other users and, depending on the feature, may be shareable outside iDeeJay.

Public information can include your username, display name, profile image, biography, DJ or professional information, public posts, social links, follower or following relationships, public events, public sessions, reviews, and other content you choose to make public.

Blocking another user is designed to restrict supported interactions and visibility between accounts, but it cannot erase information the blocked person already saw, saved outside the Service, or received through another person.

9. Messaging, Reports, and Moderation

If you use messaging or other communication features, we process message content and related metadata so we can deliver the communication, provide notifications, maintain safety, troubleshoot issues, and enforce our Terms.

When content or an account is reported, we may review the reported material, relevant account and activity information, prior reports, and related context. We may preserve information when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, prevent repeat violations, resolve disputes, protect safety, or comply with law.

Reports are not necessarily anonymous to iDeeJay, although we generally do not reveal the identity of a reporting user to the reported user unless required by law or necessary for a specific process.

10. Payments, Subscriptions, Tips, and Paid Features

If you purchase or receive Paid Features, subscriptions, boosts, tokens, tips, promotional placements, or other paid services, payment processing may be handled by Apple or another authorized payment or payout provider.

iDeeJay may receive transaction identifiers, product or subscription status, purchase history within iDeeJay, entitlement status, payout status, chargeback or refund information, and related records. We generally do not receive your complete payment-card number when payment is processed by Apple or another payment provider.

Where payouts to DJs or other eligible recipients are offered, additional identity, tax, banking, or verification information may be collected directly by a payment or compliance provider or, if necessary, by iDeeJay. Any such collection should be described in the applicable payout flow.

11. Analytics, Crash Reporting, and Performance

We use analytics and diagnostic tools to understand how iDeeJay performs and how features are used. Depending on the surface and configuration, these tools include Google Firebase services, Google Analytics (including GA4 on web surfaces), and Amplitude for functions such as authentication, database infrastructure, notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.

These providers may process device or browser identifiers, app or website events, IP address, crash data, performance data, referral or campaign information, and other technical or usage information needed to provide their services.

We configure analytics and diagnostics to collect information reasonably necessary for product operation and improvement and do not intentionally send Apple Music library contents to general-purpose analytics providers.

12. Maps and Location Providers

iDeeJay uses third-party mapping technology, including Mapbox, for map display, place search, location discovery, and related functionality.

When you use mapping or location features, the map provider may receive information such as IP address, device or application information, search queries, map interactions, approximate or precise location where permitted, and technical telemetry according to its own terms and privacy policy.

13. Website, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

iDeeJay’s website and web-session experiences may be published or delivered using Framer and other infrastructure providers. These providers may process technical information necessary to host, secure, and deliver the website.

Framer’s built-in analytics is designed to provide anonymized website metrics without cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. iDeeJay may also use third-party analytics or measurement tools, including Google Analytics and Amplitude, on certain web surfaces. Depending on configuration, those tools may use cookies, local storage, device or browser identifiers, or similar technologies.

Website measurements may include page views, approximate region, device or browser type, referral source, campaign parameters, join-link or session identifiers, button interactions, and web-requester activity. Where applicable law requires consent before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used, we will seek the required consent and provide applicable controls.

14. Event Discovery and Ticketmaster

iDeeJay may use Ticketmaster’s Discovery API or other event-data services to display event, venue, attraction, and related information. To perform a search or provide location-relevant results, iDeeJay may send search terms, location coordinates or location-derived search parameters, market or country information, and similar request data to the applicable event-data service.

If you select a Ticketmaster or other third-party ticketing link, you may be directed to a third-party website or service. Any account information, payment information, ticket purchase, refund request, or other information you provide directly to that third party is governed by that third party’s privacy policy and terms, not this Privacy Policy, unless iDeeJay expressly states otherwise.

15. Advertising and Sponsored Content

iDeeJay may display advertising, sponsored content, or promotional placements. Where advertising technology such as Google AdMob is enabled, the advertising provider may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, ad impressions, interactions, and other advertising or technical data depending on configuration, consent, device settings, and applicable law.

We do not sell personal information for money. If iDeeJay engages in data disclosures that are legally considered a “sale” or “sharing” for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, we will provide any notices and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.

Where Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework or another consent mechanism is legally or platform-required, tracking that requires permission will not be enabled without the required permission.

16. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

Where we engage a service provider to process personal information on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to require protections for user data that are consistent with this Privacy Policy, applicable contractual obligations, and applicable law. Some integrated platforms act under their own terms and privacy policies rather than solely as processors for iDeeJay.

• To other users when you use public, social, session, booking, messaging, event, or professional-profile features

• To service providers that process information on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notification, mapping, payment, customer-support, security, and advertising providers

• To Apple and other integrated platform providers as necessary to provide their services and comply with their terms

• To law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or valid legal process or is necessary to protect rights, safety, and security

• In connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements

• With your direction or consent

17. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect safety and security, and support legitimate business operations.

Retention varies by data type. Account and profile information is generally retained while your account is active. User Content and social information may remain until deleted by you, removed by us, or deleted as part of account deletion. Session, event, booking, transaction, analytics, security, and diagnostic records may be retained for different periods based on their purpose and applicable legal requirements.

After account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal information and User Content associated with the account from active systems. Some information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten or may be retained longer when applicable law requires us to maintain it, such as certain transaction, tax, legal, or dispute records. We may retain information that has been irreversibly de-identified or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you.

18. Account Deletion and Your Controls

You may use available in-app settings to manage profile information, notifications, location permissions, blocks, and other preferences. You may also change device-level permissions in iOS Settings.

All users can initiate deletion of their iDeeJay account from within the iDeeJay app. You may also contact privacy@ideejay.app or support@ideejay.app for assistance with a deletion request.

Account deletion deletes the account and personal information and User Content associated with it from our active systems, except information we are legally required to maintain. Some information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten, and de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you may be retained.

Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your iDeeJay account or information associated with it.

19. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply to iDeeJay, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including:

• Accessing or obtaining a copy of personal information we maintain about you

• Correcting inaccurate personal information

• Deleting personal information, subject to legal exceptions

• Receiving certain information in a portable format

• Objecting to or restricting certain processing

• Withdrawing consent where processing depends on consent

• Opting out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing practices where applicable

• Appealing certain privacy-request decisions where applicable

• Lodging a complaint with an applicable privacy or data-protection authority

20. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have additional privacy rights if the applicable state privacy law applies to iDeeJay. These may include rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of data, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable, and opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

iDeeJay does not sell personal information for money. If our practices become subject to a legally defined opt-out right, we will provide the required method for exercising that right and will recognize applicable opt-out preference signals where required by law.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

21. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Similar Laws

Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies, our legal basis for processing depends on the purpose and may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with legal obligations.

22. International Data Transfers

iDeeJay is operated from the United States and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home country.

Where required, we use or rely on lawful safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.

23. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Depending on the system, these may include encrypted network connections, authentication controls, Firebase Security Rules, role-based access controls, protected cloud infrastructure, monitoring, logging, and other security measures.

No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.

24. Children and Minors

iDeeJay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Users who are minors must have any consent required by applicable law and should use appropriate privacy settings. Some events and venues displayed through iDeeJay may be restricted to adults.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to iDeeJay, contact privacy@ideejay.app.

25. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party platforms and SDKs. Depending on which features are enabled, these may include:

• Apple Music / MusicKit

• Sign in with Apple

• Google Sign-In

• Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

• Google Firebase, including Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance, and Cloud Messaging where used

• Google Analytics, including GA4 on applicable web surfaces

• Amplitude analytics

• Mapbox mapping and search services

• Ticketmaster event-discovery services

• Framer website hosting, delivery, and built-in analytics where used

• Spotify authentication or music-service APIs where enabled

• Google AdMob where advertising is enabled

• Apple App Store and related purchase services

• Payment or payout providers if paid transactions or creator payouts are enabled

26. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as iDeeJay evolves, our service providers change, or legal requirements change. We will update the Last Updated date and may provide additional notice in the app, by email, on our website, or through another reasonable method when changes are material.
